Isparta, which meets 65 percent of the world's rose oil demand, has started the rose harvest. The first roses in the region bloomed in the village of Ardıçlı, located in the district of Keçiborlu. Gathered in the early hours of the morning, the roses are quickly transported to the facilities in the area and turned into rose oil and rose water by distillation in large vats. Most of the rose oil is exported, making an important contribution to the economy of the country and the region. The rose harvest season also provides an important tourism income for the locals, with the visitors it attracts.
An opening ceremony for the harvest season was held in Ardıçlı, a small village in the district of Keçiborlu, where the first roses of the year bloomed. The Governor of Isparta, Aydın Baruş, the District Governor of Keçiborlu, Tahsin Aksu, the Mayor of Keçiborlu, Yusuf Murat Parlak, the Mayor of Senir, Tayfun Borazancı, village heads, and farmers attended the program.
Speaking in the rose fields, Governor Baruş emphasized that the rose is an indispensable product for Isparta and said that it is a good market both for tourism and industry. He invited everyone to Isparta and the rose gardens. He said, "This year, due to frost damage in the rose flowers, there is a decrease in yield, but with high-quality oil and high floor prices, we believe that our rose producers will not be victims. The rose is truly an indispensable plant for us and for Isparta. When we see the rose gardens blossom in May, our life becomes more colorful, cheerful, and our joy of living increases one more fold. The importance of rose gardens is great both in terms of economy and the increase in tourism to Isparta in recent years. The chamber of commerce's works on introducing rose products to the outer world are continuing. As for rose oil and products, we think that there is an important market, especially in the Far East. Soon, guests will come from South Korea as guests of our Chamber of Commerce. Rose products are very beneficial for the human body. Visitors come from all over Turkey to here, but I want to remind once again that this beauty can be found only in very few places in the world. To walk around in the rose gardens, breathe this air, smell the fragrance, and see this view really adds value to our joy of living. I invite all Ispartans to visit the rose gardens. The rose season lasts for about a month, followed by lavender. During the lavender season, we host our guests from all around Turkey and various countries of the world. We are trying to develop Isparta, which is like Turkey's flower garden, with its roses, lavenders, and other aromatic plants. In the coming years, the weight of Isparta in these markets will be felt better."

Governor Baruş visited the educational campuses established within the scope of the project carried out by the Keçiborlu District Governorship and Non-Governmental Organizations in the villages of Ardıçlı and Tepecik and attended the ongoing lessons, chatting with the children and receiving information about the activities carried out by the association staff.
