Isparta celebrated the 104th anniversary of the arrival of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Samsun, which is also known as the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth, and Sports Day. The celebrations began with a wreath-laying ceremony on May 19. The ceremony was attended by the Director of Youth and Sports of İl, Mahmut Danayiyen, civil society representatives, national athletes, club representatives, and students. At the 15 July Republic and Democracy Square, the ceremony began with a minute of silence and singing of the national anthem. Next, the Director of Youth and Sports of Isparta, Mahmut Danayiyen, laid a wreath at the Atatürk monument.
The celebration program then continued at the Işıkkent Sports Hall. Attendees included Deputy Governor Hamdullah Suphi Özgödek, Garrison Commander Colonel Mustafa Kahraman, Deputy Mayor Uğur Büyükçulcu, military, civil, and judiciary officials, public institution directors, citizens, and students. The program began with the singing of the national anthem and a minute of silence. Later, Director Mahmut Danayiyen gave a speech that emphasized the significance of the day. He also spoke about how Turkey's founding father, Atatürk, once said that "the young people will carry the nation forward." Danayiyen reminded the youth that Turkish people have always made significant contributions to history through their established states. Additionally, he encouraged the youth to strive for excellence, not just in war, but also in sports, art, and science. Danayiyen concluded his speech by emphasizing the importance of the sacrifices made by those who fought for the Turkish flag and the nation.
After the speech, the attendees enjoyed various performances such as folk dances, gymnastics, taekwondo, karate, and archery demonstrations, along with music and poetry recitals. During the program, Deputy Governor Hamdullah Suphi Özgödek, Garrison Commander Colonel Mustafa Kahraman, and Deputy Mayor Uğur Büyükçulcu also presented awards to the winners of various sports competitions held between schools across the province. The program then concluded with a mountain climbing show and the performance of a patriotic poem. Finally, Deputy Governor Hamdullah Suphi Özgödek thanked the celebration committee and the students for their excellent performances and took a group photo to mark the occasion.
