CHP leader and Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu shared the ninth episode of his video series called 'Bay Kemal's Throne.' In the tweet he posted from his Twitter account, Kılıçdaroğlu wrote: "Bay Kemal's Throne-9. We don't have time to waste on fights. To compete with the world, we need a strong internet network, not a makeshift 'half-and-half' system, and we will establish high-speed communication systems all over Turkey."
In the video in which he explains the digital infrastructure project, Kılıçdaroğlu stated: "Dear People;
We are in a digital age. The world is talking about major developments in the field of artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, smart drugs, wearable technologies, and the internet of things.
So, what do we need primarily to not lag behind the future world? Yes, you guessed it; a solid internet infrastructure and high-speed internet.
Let's get started.
If we want to compete with the world, one; we need to bring light-speed internet to every corner of Turkey, two; we need to prevent the connection loss problems that are often experienced. For this, we need a solid internet infrastructure. Why shouldn't the internet speed known as gigabit internet be available in all of our major cities? It will. We will achieve speeds of 1 gigabit per second in our major cities and at least 100 megabits per second in our towns.
Young people, time is the most valuable thing in today's world. When we reach these speeds, you will save a great deal of time. In some digital operations that even seconds matter, you won't lag behind the world. Besides, it wouldn't be bad to not have lag while playing online games. I'm sure we agree on that.
We will weave our beautiful country with fiber networks. We will increase the length of our fiber optic network to 2 million kilometers as soon as possible. Furthermore, we will invest 35 billion dollars over 5 years to improve our country's electronic and communication infrastructure.
Thanks to this communication speed; a doctor in Turkey will be able to examine his patient in Zurich, or even perform surgery with robotic technology. From banking transactions to commerce, everything will happen in seconds.
Young people; we will open light-speed highways for you in the virtual world. You will also compete with the world.
So what are we saying?
Let's give our vote for Turkey, let's bid farewell to low internet speed and broken connections.
Come on."
