Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) Associate Professor Doç. Devabil Kara's personal exhibition "Ara Durum Sentezi III" met with art lovers under the host of Afyon Kocatepe University (AKU) FFA.

The exhibition opening, held on May 2 at AKU M. Rıza Çerçel Cultural and Art Center, was realized with the participation of AKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Yalçın, AKÜ FFA Dean Acting Prof. Dr. Selçuk Akçay, Dean's Assistants, academic staff, students, and art lovers from Afyonkarahisar.

In addition to the 38 works of the artist Kara, which have a retrospective quality belonging to different periods of her art journey, the exhibition also included a presentation video about the artist's works. The exhibition can be visited until May 26.

About Devabil Kara

The artist, who graduated from the Marmara University FFA Painting Department in 1986, attended Joseph Tichy's engraving seminar in 1987. In the same year, she continued her studies on lithography at the Salzburg International Summer Academy. She submitted her art proficiency thesis at Marmara University in 1993. She continued her studies in the United States between 1996-1997. The artist, who opened 34 solo exhibitions, four of which are abroad, participated in numerous group exhibitions. She won 15 awards, including the State Painting Competition, Dyo Painting Competition, and the 2021 World Art Day "Wallace Hartley" Artist of the Year awards. Describing her art as "Trying to create images that complete the gap between the past and the future by traveling both within and outside of time," the artist has a book titled "Devabil Kara, İzler Gölgeler ve Kaybedip Bulduğumuz Kimi Şeyler." The artist is currently working as a faculty member at the Marmara University FFA Painting Department.
