Anıl Halis Akar, the Republican People's Party candidate, who is continuing his election campaigns, said, "Our farmers are in a debt trap in this government. On May 14th, our farmers will also smile with our administration." Visiting producers with Sinanpaşa district President of CHP, Ahmet Demir, and a group of party members in Sinanpaşa district, Anıl Halis Akar emphasized that while the citizens cannot afford the expensive fruit and vegetable prices in the bazaars, the farmers who produce them are in a debt trap. According to the data of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, farmers' credit debt to banks increased by 33.2% to 186.9 billion TL compared to the same month of the previous year in March 2022. Anıl Halis Akar stated that we know the situation of farmers who try to cover their follow-up loans with other credits they receive from banks and are left with no bank to borrow any money from.

Furthermore, Anıl Halis Akar stated that another factor that effectively causes the farmers' debt is the uncontrollable increase in input costs used in agricultural production. He said that the highest increase in costs was 138.11% in fertilizers and 121.77% in energy. Anıl Halis Akar emphasized that they would immediately provide support for farmers to continue production, clear interest on the debts, and erase their debts. He said that the only way to reduce prices to a reasonable level and to maintain price stability in the country is with rational policies.

Akar also stated that they would lift the VAT on farmers' fuel and provide fuel for tractors at the same price as regular fuel. He said that the AKP government is not in favor of the producers, the poor, or the farmers, and they intend to make Afyon the center of agriculture and prevent the disposal or abandonment of products due to inadequate cost by enabling production planning. Anıl Halis Akar emphasized that with this production planning, farmers would know the price of their product before sowing seeds in their fields. He finally stated that there would be no base price for some people.
